Track of the week - Move On by David Jordan
June 9th, 2008This week I’ve chosen Move On by David Jordan. I’ve loved this track from the moment I heard it (though now I’m getting a little tired of it as I’ve had it on repeat for so long!) and it’s a cracking track to play to. The actual groove is really basic so it’s like a blank canvas to do what you want with. It makes a really good “angry” track! You know, the sort you play to let off some steam! It’s great for slightly trashy hi hats, lots of flams and crashes. It has a middle 8 in which, if you’re at that stage, you can jazz up a little with some embellishment on the cymbals.
Here’s the breakdown:
Section No. of Bars
Intro 4 – don’t play 1st 2 bars. Bass drum only in bars 3 and 4.
