Track of the week Alright Now by Free

May 16th, 2008

This week I’ve chosen Alright Now by Free. A classic track I’m sure you’ll agree (If you’re old enough to have heard it!). The reason I’m breaking this track down this week is because I have to play it next week, and the last time I played it I hadn’t heard it for about 10 years and I played it from what I could remember of the track in a live performance (not the best way to go about things!) Needless to say I messed part of it up! I didn’t kick back in at the right time after the LOOONG guitar solo! So, my advice to you is, in that LOOONG and kinda odd bar numbered guitar solo, until you’re massively familiar with the track, COUNT!! This is the best way to ensure you’re gonna come back in, in the right place. To be fair, 37 bars is a really odd one to feel, so counting is probably best no matter how well you know the track.
